I absolutely adore fall colors. They transitional blend from yellow to brown really appeals to my desire to experience fall in all it’s glory. Cool nights, warm days, and the promise of the comfort of the holiday season are all wrapped up in fall colors for me.

I called this granny square Fall Sunset, because where I live, the sunlight is a yellowish hue in fall, and often there are multiple colors at sunset. Our rural open skies provide views that just.won’t.quit.

This square was designed especially for the Charity Cozy Fall Makealong hosted by Knittingwithchopsticks.com and Noorsknits.com  You can find all of the other designs through the link above or you can grab a PDF version here if you prefer to have a copy you can print!

What you need to make the Fall Sunset Granny Square

Final Size: 8”

Hook size: H, 5mm

Yarn needed – worsted weight

I used a few different brands of yarn, but my favorites are Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn and Lion Brand Pound of Love.

If you don’t have those, it’s fine, just find 4 colors that are similar to the ones in the square and go with those. Here are some possible choices:

  • Mustard
  • Pumpkin
  • Cherry or Crimson
  • Brown
