If you like to freehand crochet projects, then you know that there are times when you need to write your own patterns for things. I ran into this recently when creating a solid pattern for my crochet plushies. The ears just wouldn’t come out right until I came up with this ear. Here’s how to crochet ears for your teddy bear plushies.

Ear Pattern for Crochet Plushies {Bears}
What you need:
Bernat Blanket Yarn for Main Color (MC)
Bernat Blanket Yarn for Accent Color (A)

Instructions:
Both Pieces 1 and 2 are made exactly the same way. They are then stacked and crocheted together along the top arc of both pieces to create the ear.
For Piece 1 (use color A)
Five single crochet in a magic ring. Do not join to make a circle. Pull the yarn strand to close the middle stitch, and you’ll notice that you get a half circle. Fasten off and cut.
Piece 2 (use Main Color)
Five single crochet in a magic ring. Do not join to make a circle. Pull the yarn strand to close the middle stitch, and you’ll notice that you get a half circle. Fasten off.
